Primal North: The Thyroid – It ain’t carb removal – A letter to the open minded

A good article . Good thoughts. Though I have always eaten  liver frequently and now make bone broth on a regular basis – I have  never developed the taste my mother had for all the other edible parts of an animal, including bone marrow, brains and chicken feet. Of course most every culture other than modern North American, appreciates and uses all of these parts.  I’ll see what I can do to increase my offal consumption although I do think access to many parts is difficult if not impossible.

The gelatin is a great and easy way to start. Also for the things like connective tissue, knee joints, egg shells, etc.. all can simply be added to your bone broths to enhance them without really any flavor change. Chicken feet do well in chicken broths, etc…

Skin as well is often put in broths.

I’d rather spend 4.00 on bones than 24 grams of gelatin. no thanks on the chicken feet 🙂

Its all good man, I got nothing to sell and don’t own shares in gelatin. I have a small kitchen and a big family so cannot make bone broth as often as I like, so its an easy way to get it.

        Have a good one!

That is exactly how I do it 🙂
